That was supposed to be a surprise

My dear, dear, husband tried to surprise me again. Yes, I say tried. I love my husband and surprises, but my husband is just not good at surprises. Don't get me wrong, he has great ideas and I love every surprise my husband has ever given me. But he just isn't very....how should I say it..."polished" at carrying out the surprise itself. Here is what happened: My husband tried surprising me with a week-end getaway to Daytona Beach. He planned everything in secret. He arranged for my maid, I mean mother to watch the twins, canceled an engagement I made with friends for dinner on Saturday night, and packed our beach bags etc. But it was what he didn't do that gave this surprise away. He didn't use a credit card to secure the hotel room. Instead he used his bank card attached to our checking account. Now normally this would not have been an issue, and to his defence he knows this. I hardly ever go on-line to look into our account. That is until recently, I made an huge error while making a payment with our on-line banking account. So I happened to go on-line to check into the error. That is when I noticed it. A fraudulent charge! Holy crap! (Here is where the "surprise" starts to unravel) "Where were you today?" I ask my husband. "At work!" he responds, as if to say duh! "I know you were at work, which office?" (It is possible for my husband to work out of a Daytona office) "Bradenton" he says. I then proceed to tell him that someone must have gotten a hold of our debit card because there is a charge to a hotel in Daytona Beach! "You need to call the bank right away" I say, as I hand him the phone. "Uhhh...not so fast".....he says. "That was supposed to be a surprise". He didn't even try and lie to keep the surprise going. I love the surprise and I am excited to get away and see some old friends. I just wonder how he would have pulled this off.

You've gotta blog!

My good friend Edye, has been on my case to blog! "You've gotta blog" she says. Like a high school girl trying to get her best friend to try smoking for the first time. I for one find it a complete invasion of my thoughts. It is like an open read of my journal. (Of which, I do not have just for that very reason). I spend 90 percent of my day in my car or waiting in an office. The last thing I want to do at night is pick up my laptop and blog. So today I called my good friend Edye. The conversation went something like this.

Edye: "This is Edye"
Me: "Yo, Yo, Yo, DAWG what's up Dawg?" (I usually start out most of my calls like this to her, during Idol season only)
Me:"I just called to blog."
Edye: "Okay freak you can't call in your blogs, you actually have to go online and do it."
Me: "You got all my passwords just go on and blog for me." (Edye wanted me to blog so badly, she set up this account for me.)
Edye: "No, No, you've gotta do it'"
Me: "Egads whatever..."
Edye: (under her breath) "hey, listen." (this always, always means my boss lady just walked in cube world and eye's gotts-ta go)
Me: "okay bye"

So here I am "blogging" Maybe the first time and quite possibly the last. I haven't decided yet.
